Laurent joined Bird & Bird in 2006 as a senior associate. Prior to this, he worked at Loyens, a major Belgian law firm. Laurent specialises in intellectual property, IT and commercial law. His IP practice mainly includes advising on trade marks, copyright and domain name issues. On the IT side, Laurent’s area of expertise includes outsourcing, license and service agreements, software development and IT and IP aspects of M&A transactions. Laurent also advises on a broad range of commercial law issues, including distribution agreements, commercial agencies, franchising and fair trade practices. Laurent regularly writes on all these topics.
Laurent graduated from the University of Liège and also holds an LL.M in IP law from the University of Leuven. A member of the Brussels bar since 1997, he speaks French, Dutch and English.
