Julia Bröcher joined Bird & Bird in December 2006. She is a member of the Intellectual Property Group. Her work focuses on trade mark law, copyright law, domain law, and unfair competition.
Julia studied law at the Universities of Bielefeld and Nottingham (GB). After her legal training at the District Court of Essen, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Information, Telecommunication and Media Law of Prof. Dr. Hoeren in Münster (2003-2006) where she mainly focused on the interdisciplinary project “Internet Economy”, subproject “Trademarks and Trademark Law”. Subsequently, she spent three months at the University of La Plata (Argentina) where she worked on an international study about e-government.
Julia's doctoral thesis deals with the acquisition of protected signs such as trademarks and business identifiers on the internet. She was admitted to the Düsseldorf Bar in January 2007.
