Hervé Pillard graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and from ESSEC and holds a fourth year law degree in Business Law. He qualified as a French lawyer in 1997 and joined Bird & Bird's International Banking Group in 2006, having previously worked with De Pardieu, Brocas, Maffei et Associés, Ashurst and SJ Berwin.

Hervé is head of Bird & Bird’s Banking & Financial Services Sector Group in France. Hervé has acted on a large number of transactions involving the private equity sector (LBO and venture capital transactions, funds formation). In recent years he has frequently advised banks, mezzanine funds and investment funds in LBO transactions.
