Harry Rek

Harry Rek started practising law in 1985. His practice areas are company law, M&A and securities. Harry is acknowledged in "The European Legal 500", Global Counsel’s “Mergers and Acquisitions Handbook” and Legal Business’ "European legal Experts" as a leading and recommended Dutch M&A lawyer. His deal experience includes cross-border M&A work for media, telecoms and IT clients, and on a national level Harry also has been engaged in M&A transactions in the utilities and health care sectors.

In addition, Harry acts as European Counsel for a US Fortune 1000 media/information client, in which capacity Harry overviews all legal aspects of the client’s business in Europe and certain other parts of the world. For this work, Harry was recognised by the Boston based BTI Consulting Group who listed Harry in their “2005 BTI Client Service All-Stars Team” for delivering superior client service with exceptional client focus to Fortune 1000 companies. On this list, which singles out 114 attorneys across the world, Harry is the only European attorney to be included since 2001.

Harry is one of the 4 Dutch partners who set up Bird & Bird’s Dutch office in The Hague on 1 December 2001. He is joint head of the firm’s International Corporate Group and executive member of Bird & Bird's Global Board.
