Alison graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in French from Manchester University, before converting to law and joining Bird & Bird as a trainee in September 2002. Alison qualified into the Employment group in September 2004.
Alison advises on both contentious and non-contentious employment issues, including drafting contracts of employment and staff handbooks, employee and executive terminations, redundancy programmes (both individual and collective) and disciplinary and grievance matters. She has also been involved in advising clients on employment tribunal proceedings concerning discrimination and harassment, whistleblowing and constructive and unfair dismissal.
Alison also advises regularly on the employment aspects of corporate and commercial transactions, including TUPE issues.
