Roelien was admitted to the Dutch Bar in 2000 and joined Bird & Bird in April 2007.
She advises on a wide range of information technology law matters, including IT contracts, software exploitation, e-commerce and data protection, acting for IT suppliers and customers. Roelien also acts in IT disputes, including failed automation matters. She furthermore advises on media contracts and has wide experience in general commercial contracts and consumer law.
Roelien regularly speaks at internal and external seminars and has taught specialist courses on IT procurement for sourcing professionals.
Roelien is a member of the Netherlands Association for Media and Communications Law and the Netherlands Association for Information Technology and Law.
Roelien graduated from Leiden University and subsequently completed an LLM at University College London. She also holds a postgraduate degree in information technology law.
