Neil has worked in both London and Tokyo advising on international corporate finance and debt finance transactions. He has extensive experience of domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and private equity transactions. He also advises on general company law, corporate governance and regulatory matters.

Neil is listed as a leading individual for Corporate Finance work by Chambers and Partners (clients commented that he “gets the deal done and doesn't set up barriers" and "when he has to, he fights for his points") and is listed in Legal Experts (the Legal Business survey of UK practitioners) as a recommended lawyer for Corporate and M&A work.

Neil joined Bird & Bird in 1998. Prior to that he spent 6 years as an associate with Freshfields in London and Tokyo and 4 years as a partner at Frere Cholmeley Bischoff.
