Amedeo Rampolla, joined Bird & Bird’s Employment Group in December 2006, and is based in the Milan office.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird he was head of the Employment, Pension and Benefits team at a large international law firm for five years, and before that he was a partner at Andersen Legal where he established and was head of the Italian Labour Law Service Line.

Amedeo was admitted to the Italian Bar in 1992, and has more than 12 years experience of a wide range of employment advice.

He provides assistance to leading international companies in human resources management - from hiring and disciplinary procedures, to compensation (including the implementation of stock options plans) and individual and collective dismissal, and assistance in litigation and arbitration on the above matters.

He also provides assistance on trade unions negotiation and industrial relations (also in connection with transfer of undertakings, collective redundancies and European works councils), trade union and social insurance litigation and arbitration, as well as due diligence investigation.

Amedeo is a member of the Italian Employment Lawyers Association (AGI) and of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA). He has also authored various publications on employment law. Amongst others, these include the Italian section of “Employment Law and The European Union” published by Croners Publications Ltd in 1999, and the article “New scenarios in Italian labour legislation?” in LegalWeek July 2002. He is co-author of a commentary to the Employment Proceedings Code, published by Ipsoa in 2001.
