Ulf Grundmann is partner of our Practice Group Intellectual Property, advising European and and US-American clients in the areas of IP and Unfair Competition Law. He focuses on Litigation and Arbitration as well as extra-judicial advice. Ulf is member of our Sector Group Life Sciences and mainly advising clients of the pharmaceutical, medical devices and food industries. He is concentrated on regulatory work for this industry sector.
 
Ulf was admitted to the Frankfurt bar in 1995. He was partner with the Germany-based law firm Gaedertz Rechtsanwälte and merged with their Frankfurt office as partner into the US-law firm Mayer Brown in 2001. He joined Bird & Bird in July 2008. Ulf studied law at universities of Bonn and Munich. He was lawyer with a US law firm concentrated on US-Litigatation and US-IP work in Orlando, Florida (USA) before getting admitted at the Frankfurt bar.
 
Ulf Grundmann serves as lecturer at Hochschule für Bankwirtschaft (private university of banking and finance) and at Deutsche AnwaltsAkademie (German Lawyers' Academy). He is frequent speaker at seminars and conferences and author of different publications. In particular he is:

• editor of law magazine "Lebensmittel & Recht" (Food & Law);
• author of "Münchener Anwaltshandbuch Gewerblicher Rechtsschutz" (Munich Handbook IP-Law);
• editor and author of "Gesundheitsbezogene Lebensmittel" (Food-related Law).
