Marc joined Bird & Bird in 2003 and specialises in public and administrative law. He also has extensive experience in public procurement, town planning and environmental law.
He also has a particular focus on the life science sector. Drawing on his experience in administrative litigation and by working closely with the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, Mark provides clients with integrated strategies to deal with issues in this highly regulated field.
Prior to joining the firm, Marc spent three years in the office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Mobility and Transport as an expert in the fields of public enterprises in the transport sector where he dealt with issues such as the establishment and re-organisation of regulatory agencies and public procurement. Marc worked on the preparation of the privatisation of the national airport and the liberalisation of the Belgian rail system.
Marc holds a law degree from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) (where he also worked four years as a research assistant) and a degree in public and administrative law from the University of Brussels (ULB). Marc was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 1995. He speaks French, Dutch and English.
