Jakob joined Bird & Bird in December 2005. He is part of the Intellectual Property and Competition Law Group in Düsseldorf. His practice areas include trade mark, unfair competition, design and copyright law. In particular he advises in product piracy issues.

Jakob studied law at the Universities of Trier, Rome and Cologne and passed his bar exam in 2005. He is currently finishing his doctoral thesis on the protection of IP rights through border measures at the University of Cologne. Before joining Bird & Bird, Jakob gained work experience in London, Brussels and Rome.

Jakob is a member of the Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright law (GRUR) and of the German-Italian Law Association. He speaks German, English and Italian.
