Dr Wolfgang Ehrenstein is a member of the IP Practice Group of Bird & Bird and a recognised expert in the areas of patent law and license agreements. He advises clients on all matters of international patent law and technology transfer.
As former director of the patent and licensing department of Bayer Healthcare AG with worldwide responsibility, Wolfgang possesses very extensive experience in the areas of IP management, IP evaluation, technology transfer, mergers & acquisitions and due diligence proceedings. He contributed significantly to the creation of “Berliner Vertragsbausteine” in the sector Technology Transfer University-Industry. Wolfgang also has great experience in working with committees as a representative in the German, European and World Pharma Association. He headed the Life Sciences Group of the Licensing Executive Society Germany for many years and was a delegate at the World Association.
Wolfgang has been licensed as European Patent Attorney since 1981. He has been working for Bird & Bird as freelancer since March 2006. Previously, he worked with Bayer AG in various positions from 1971 to 2006. Wolfgang Ehrenstein studied chemistry at the University Bonn and received the Dr. rer. nat. in 1970.
