Andrew is a member of Bird & Bird’s Banking & Financial Services Group. Having joined Bird & Bird in 1997, he was appointed a consultant in 2004.

Andrew specialises in project finance work, preparing and negotiating the documentation for project finance loans and bonds (some convertible into equity), sponsor project support agreements (including guarantees and off-take agreements) and security arrangements across a number of jurisdictions.

Andrew regularly advises an international development bank in connection with its projects across a wide range of sectors (including telecommunications, banking, power and pharmaceuticals) in Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe.

He has recently been involved in the successful debt and equity funding for the pre-launch phase of a communications satellite for a pan-African consortium. He has also advised a major telecommunications company in relation to the financing of its 3G activities in three separate Western European countries.

In addition to advising on all aspects of more conventional banking transactions, Andrew has some specialism in the field of consumer credit.
