At Bird & Bird we recognise that we have a responsibility to consider the effect that our business activity has on the environment, and we are committed to ensuring that we minimise the impact by adopting a policy aimed at reducing our “carbon footprint” and encouraging others to do similarly.
As an international firm with over 1000 people working in fourteen different offices in nine countries, we recognise that we can make a difference and so we strive to create a work culture where environmental consideration is seen as “business as usual” rather than a series of one off, short lived initiatives.
Bird & Bird’s Environmental Policy is central to the way we do business; from the way we run our offices to the people we employ to manage our supply chain relationships. Our policy is designed to underscore the importance of understanding how each of us as individuals can make a difference, as well as developing firm wide strategic actions.
The policy is kept under review by our Executive Committee. The Committee is a cross functional forum which has responsibility for all aspects of our business, and continually reviews the firm’s policies and procedures to ensure they remain appropriate, contemporary and abreast of both legislative change and developments in best practice.
