Sebastian Fuchs advises domestic and international clients on all areas of Intellectual Property Law with a focus on patents.
Sebastian is an associate in the Dusseldorf office of Bird & Bird and is a member of our Intellectual Property Practice Group.
Sebastian advises national and international clients especially on patent law. A focus of his work is on national and international patent litigation. Sebastian is involved in patent litigation in the medical devices, automotive and electronics sectors.
Sebastian studied law at the University of Munster and at Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg. During his studies in Munster he specialised in Intellectual Property Law and subsequently completed a doctoral thesis on particular legal issues with the European Patent system compared to the Unitary Patent system. While he wrote his doctoral thesis he worked for an international business law firm in the area of IP litigation.
During his legal clerkship in Dusseldorf, Brussels and Hamburg, Sebastian worked for a Civil Chamber of the Regional Court of Dusseldorf specialised in patent matters and the European Commission.
Sebastian was admitted to the bar in April 2016 and joined the team of Bird & Bird the same month. Sebastian is fluent in English. He is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright law (GRUR).
