Salvatore has an excellent reputation as a leading EU and antitrust lawyer in Italy with a strong background in civil and administrative law.
Salvatore is a senior European Counsel, in charge of the Italian antitrust and EU law department in our Rome office.
He regularly assists clients before the Italian Antitrust Authority, the EU Commission and the Civil and Administrative Courts, in particular in the context of investigations for cartels and abuses of dominance, unfair advertising, and merger filings. He also assists major international clients in EU public procurement, State aid and private litigation. Salvatore pleads at the Highest Courts (Avvocato Cassazionista).
With almost twenty years of practice he has an in depth understanding of a broad number of industry and services markets, ranging from cultural services, pharmaceutical, electronic communications and energy, to food, sport clothing, siderurgical and automotive. He specialises in introducing multinational clients to the features of the Italian markets and legislation.
Before joining Bird & Bird, Salvatore practiced in international and Italian-based law firms in Brussels, Milan and Rome, including Tizzano Pappalardo, Freshfields and Studio Legale Macchi di Cellere Gangemi.
He has published an extensive range of books and articles on Italian and EU Competition Law. He is quoted as a “leading” individual in Chambers and PLC.
