Oh Pin-Ping is an associate at ATMD Bird & Bird in Singapore. Her main area of practice is civil litigation with an intellectual property (IP) focus. Pin-Ping has been involved in various cases relating to IP including patent, copyright and trade mark infringements, as well as breaches of confidence. In particular, she assisted on the seminal copyright infringement case of RecordTV v MediaCorp. Pin-Ping is actively involved with litigation counselling, non-contentious advisory work, including advising clients on compliance with copyright laws and how to tailor their offerings in view of the confines of the copyright law.
Before pursuing her law degree, Pin-Ping spent time drafting specifications for patent applications and prosecuting those applications to grant. She is familiar with conducting prior art searches, as well as patent infringement and invalidity analyses. Pin-Ping also has industry experience in the semiconductor sector, having worked as a process engineer in a high-volume wafer fabrication plant.
Pin-Ping graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) Second Class (Upper Division) Honours in 2009, and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in May 2010. Additionally, she holds Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) First Class Honours and Master of Engineering (Chemical) degrees from the National University of Singapore. Pin-Ping is also a registered Singapore patent agent.
