Mariska is building a strong practice specialising in energy, communications and technology industries.
Mariska is an associate in our Competition & EU Law and Commercial Practices and is based in The Hague.
With a good understanding of EU and national regulation, Mariska specialises in both the regulatory and civil aspects of regulated sectors. As a result, she deals with a variety of issues, such as energy, competition, public procurement and consumer law, as well as, contract law in general. This enables her to provide advice on all regulatory as well as the commercial issues at hand.
Amongst others, she advises and supports her clients in contentious and non-contentious competition matters including cartels, state aid, distribution and licensing agreements, the exchange of commercially sensitive information and unfair competition of public businesses (“Wet Markt & Overheid”). In addition, an increasing part of her work involves advising on the drafting of contracts and disputes between businesses.
Mariska has worked with clients across a range of regulated sectors, mostly in the energy sector, but also in the communications, technology and gambling industry. She is a member of our Energy & Utilities Group.
Mariska joined us in 2013 having graduated cum laude in European Public Law from the Tilburg University. She is a regular author of news alerts on topics such as shale gas, private enforcement of competition law, renewable energy and state aid. Mariska also contributes competition related case updates for Practical Law Company.
Mariska is a member of the Dutch Competition Law Association (VvM) and the Dutch Energy Law Association (NeVER).
