Marcus Huisman

As a partner in our office in The Hague, I advise and litigate on the full spectrum of employment matters. I'm part of our International HR Services Practice and a member of our Tech & Comms Group.

With over 25 years' experience to draw on, I specialise in complex employment and compliance issues with special focus on corporate employment law for clients including multinationals and institutions in education and healthcare, as well as works councils and board members.

I provide strategic advice on corporate restructurings, disciplinary procedures and management issues, such as the dismissal and reward of board members and executives. I'm also experienced in advising on complex employees' representation issues and litigation, including litigation at the Amsterdam Entrepreneurial Chamber.

As well as speaking at client seminars, I have been published in several professional journals on aspects of employment law, such as the right of privacy in relation to blood tests required as part of a safety policy, and the protection of sick employees.

I'm a member of the Rotterdam Employment Lawyers Association and the Association of Employment Law.

• Advising on individual dismissal of board members and high ranking officers of a global testing and inspecting company.
• Harmonisation of employment conditions of a global medical and technologies company.
• Advising on the reorganisation and collective dismissal of a Dutch group company by a Dutch Biotech group company.
• Advising and litigation on works council issues, e.g. on regulations relating to personal information, pre-employment screening and monitoring, or checking the behaviour of employees.
