Manon has substantial experience in litigating and providing strategic advice on intellectual property rights, the protection and registration of trademark and design portfolios.
Manon is a partner in our Intellectual Property Practice and she heads our brand management team in the Netherlands. She is based in The Hague.
Manon has over 15 years of experience and has a particular focus on both contentious and non-contentious trademark, design, copyright, domain name, unfair competition and advertising law.
Her practice includes global strategic advice on intellectual property rights, the protection and registration of trademark and design portfolios. Manon is an experienced litigator and handles high profile trademark and copyright (levies) disputes, including multi-jurisdictional cases. She also regularly advises on hot topic issues in the trademark world such as plain packaging of tobacco products.
Manon coordinates anti-counterfeiting activities for a number of international clients. She regularly advises on anti-counterfeiting strategies, working in close cooperation with our international offices and with other law firms.
She contributes regularly to publications on IP-related topics. Manon is co-author of an international book on the law of computer and video games and to an international book on advertising law. She is the editor of our design law bulletin, DesignWrites. In addition, Manon initiated and co-heads our Dutch knowledge portal, BirdBuzz (birdbuzz.nl).
Manon is an active member of several professional organisations, the chair of AIPPI's Standing Committee on Piracy and Counterfeiting and a member of INTA’s Anticounterfeiting Committee (ACC). She is also a member of MARQUES, the Benelux Association of Trademark and Design Law (BMM), the Dutch Copyright Association (VvA), the Dutch Advertising Law Association (VvRr) and the Dutch Association for IP Litigators (VIEPA). Manon is also a member of the law and tax expert committee of the German-Dutch Chamber of Commerce.
