Kate's experience as a software engineer gives her practical insight into the challenges her clients face.
Kate is a senior associate in our Intellectual Property and Commercial groups, based in Sydney.
She advises clients on a wide variety of intellectual property, technology and communications law issues. Kate assists clients in relation to government and private sector contracts for consulting and technology services and advises on the legal aspects of cloud computing and data protection. Her experience also encompasses intellectual property licensing and regulation of the media and telecommunications industries.
Kate’s practice includes advising clients on all aspects of Australian and international trademark ownership, registration, oppositions and enforcement.
Before joining us, Kate was a senior software engineer with Nokia Telecommunications in Cambridge, UK and then as a senior software consultant with Rohde and Schwarz in Munich, Germany.
Kate has also practiced at the Arts Law Centre in Sydney where she provided legal assistance to arts organisations and artists, particularly in relation to the protection and commercialization of intellectual property.
