Katarzyna Kloc specialises in intellectual property and personal data protection law.
She is an Associate in the Energy & Utilities, Intellectual Property and Data Protection teams in Bird & Bird's Warsaw office.
She has been advising clients since 2009, and specialises in issues related to intellectual property, privacy and data protection. She advises also on consumer protection law, e-commerce and IT related legal issues.
Katarzyna has advised clients from various sectors, including energy, technology, e-commerce, banking and pharmaceutical. She also has experience in advising leading manufacturers from the luxury goods sector.
She assists clients with matters related to industrial property and copyright infringement proceedings, as well as unfair competition. She represents clients before the Court of Arbitration operating at the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications, regarding the violation of trademark rights by the registration of internet domains. Katarzyna is also involved in projects related to international data transfers, outsourcing, implementation of binding corporate rules and HR data processing.
She has experience in conducting due diligence of intellectual property rights, personal data protection and IT related issues. Katarzyna advises on internal restructuring, as well as on the acquisition of companies and assets.
Prior to joining Bird & Bird, Katarzyna gained her professional experience working for one of the leading international law firms in Warsaw.
She graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. Katarzyna also completed postgraduate studies in economic and commercial law, as well as medical law.
She is an advocate at the Warsaw Bar Association.
She works in Polish and English.
