Tung-Gia is a patent attorney specialising in life sciences who combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of his client’s interests and technologies.
Tung-Gia is German and European patent attorney based in our Munich office.
He advises and represents clients in national and international intellectual property law in the field of life sciences, biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics, pharmacy, chemistry, and medical devices.
Tung-Gia has gained broad experience in European and German patent law and particularly specialises in adversarial proceedings, in addition to patent prosecutions. He represents clients in obtaining patents, defending and attacking patents in oppositions and appeals before the European Patent Office, and in nullity actions before the German Federal Patent Court. Furthermore, he is regularly involved in patent infringement and vindication proceedings.
Prior to joining us in 2012, Tung-Gia completed his patent attorney training with a renowned patent law firm (2008-2011), at the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Federal Patent Court and the District Court Munich I.
Tung-Gia studied Biology with a strong focus on biochemistry at the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich. He completed his PhD in Molecular Cell Biology at the Gene Center Munich obtaining the doctor`s degree in 2007 and continued his studies on asymmetric cell division as a postdoctoral fellow.
Tung-Gia is a member of FICPI, EPI and the German Patent Attorney Chamber. He speaks German, English, Spanish, French, and Chinese.
