Alexander is highly regarded for his work in the corporate and mergers and acquisitions arena.
Alexander is senior partner of the German practice and member of the international Corporate practice.
From 2007 to 2014 he was the managing partner for the German offices and a member of our Global Management Committee. He was also head of the International Corporate Practice Group.
Alexander advises international and domestic clients on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity and venture capital transactions, public takeovers, management buyouts (MBOs), group valuations, restructuring and reorganisations as well as joint ventures. He has significant experience of corporate/M&A transactions, having advised on various large operations.
Prior to joining us, he was a member of the managing board of a prestigious German law firm. From 1993 to 1994 he worked as a foreign associate in the Chicago office of Mayer Brown and Platt.
In addition to his legal practice, Alexander is an active member of numerous national and international associations including the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK). Since 1998, he has been a member of the board and since 2008 he served as Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce (NRW Chapter). He has also been on the advisory board of Düsseldorf Airport since 2001. Alexander lectures regularly and is the author of a series of publications.
In 2010, Alexander was awarded the German Federal Cross of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz) by the former President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Horst Köhler, for his contribution to the German-American relationship.
