Daniel is an associate lawyer in our Competition and Regulatory group based in Madrid.
Daniel's practice covers the full range of proceedings before the Spanish Competition and Regulatory Authority (CNMC), regarding both regulatory issues and competition proceedings. In the regulatory field, Daniel is used to advice foreign companies for the provision of electronic communication and audiovisual services in Spain, covering technical assessments and administrative procedures. In the area of Competition, Daniel regularly advises companies at all stages of infringement proceedings, as well as in complicated concentrations between undertakings. In this regard, he also provides advice in distribution or franchise agreements, mainly in pharmaceutical and telecommunications sectors.
In addition, Daniel has participated in relevant advertising matters before the jury of Autocontrol.
Daniel holds a dual degree in Economics and Law by the Univerity Carlos III of Madrid. He has also completed study stages at ITESM, Monterrey, and Bocconi University, Milano. Additionally, he holds an LLM in European Law, with diploma in Competition Law, by the University Carlos III of Madrid. Before joining Bird & Bird in 2014, Daniel collaborated with the Competition department of Ashurst and with the legal department of the public entity CDTI (Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology), specialized in stated aids.
