Bird & Bird boosts team in Brussels by appointing Scott McInnes from MasterCard as partner

Bird & Bird is delighted to announce that Scott McInnes has joined the firm's Brussels office as a partner, effective May 1.

Scott joins from MasterCard, where he was Senior Regulatory Counsel. He has unique expertise regarding the competition law aspects and regulation of payments (and card payment schemes in particular) and is considered one of the leading experts in this field in Europe.

He previously worked as an Associate in the Brussels competition law team of Jones Day, where he advised MasterCard for six years before joining the company in 2012.

Belgian country head Anne Federle commented: "Scott's unique technical expertise and his experience as in-house lawyer will be a fantastic complement to the capabilities of our highly-ranked competition law and Banking & Finance teams. It will also be invaluable to strengthening and expanding further our long-standing relationship with MasterCard."
