The Dutch Bird & Bird Press & Publishers seminar was recently held at the FD Auditorium of Café-Restaurant Dauphine in Amsterdam. Thirty-eight attendees from companies such as Eyeworks, RTL Netherlands and NOS (the Dutch equivalent of the BBC) participated in the interactive seminar.

The seminar was kicked off by Olaf Trojan and Inge Bremmer, who discussed freedom of the press and privacy. The next topic covered recycling online content, which was presented by Martin Senftleben and Wieke During. After a short break Gerrit-Jan Zwenne and Frank Simons presented the last topic: Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). There were also three guest speakers present from AD Nieuwsmedia (daily newspaper), Tom Kabinet (online e-book company) and Aerialtronics (a UAS producer).

Olaf Trojan, the event's initiator, commented:

"It was very exciting to showcase our knowledge of these topics to the important players in the field of press and publishing. We are very happy with the elite group of general counsels from the largest media companies who registered for this seminar. This is now becoming a yearly must attend for the sector. Also great that media expert Verena Haisch from Bird & Bird Hamburg came over."

One participant commented:

"The subjects were diverse and relevant, presented by knowledgeable and refreshing speakers in a pleasant and accessible surrounding. In short: an inspiring afternoon at a great location."
