Bird & Bird welcomes new employment partner in Singapore

22 December 2014

Bird & Bird is pleased to announce the appointment of Seow Hui Goh as a partner in its Employment Group, based in Singapore.

Seow Hui has over eight years of experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law together with commercial litigation and international arbitration. She was previously a partner at Singaporean firm Braddell Brothers.

She has a strong track record in representing multinational clients on employment disputes and contracts.  Her practice is truly international: she has spent time in China, including working in Clyde & Co.'s Shanghai office, where she gained a good understanding of the Chinese legal system. She speaks fluent English and Mandarin; has advised extensively across Asia Pacific and Europe and has also worked on African acquisitions and related issues.

Seow Hui holds an LLB Hons from the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2007. She is also a member of the Singapore Academy of Law.

Alban Kang, Managing Partner of ATMD Bird & Bird Singapore said: "We are delighted to welcome Seow Hui to our team. Her appointment will considerably strengthen our Singapore Employment Group and will help develop our employment capabilities in the wider region."

Susan de Silva, Head of Employment for Asia, added: "This engagement will also enable us to capitalise on additional opportunities and relationships established by Bird & Bird's recent dynamic expansion in the Asia Pacific region."

Seow Hui said "I am thrilled to be joining Bird & Bird. Its strong sector focus and impressive international reach will provide an excellent platform for me to grow my practice and further develop my client portfolio."

Bird & Bird has recently experienced significant growth to its employment practice in the Asia Pacific region. Seow Hui Goh's appointment follows closely after the firm's appointment of new partner Ying Wang to head its employment practice in China and the addition of an Australian employment practice, headed by partner Lesley Maclou, following the November 2014 merger with Truman Hoyle in Sydney.
