Bird & Bird is pleased to announce the appointment of Michel Matas as partner in its Paris office. Michel will strengthen our International Communications Group in France.
With more than fourteen years' experience of the telecoms market, Michel's practice encompasses both transactional and contentious work. He has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating communications agreements (including agreements relating to infractructure projects, interconnection and access agreements), procurement and outsourcing agreements, terms & conditions of the service, and consumer law issues. Michel also advises clients in regulatory matters, litigations in communication disputes as well as on smart cities and open licence issues and consumer law.
Michel qualified with Bird & Bird, but has subsequently worked for another international law firm and served as General Counsel of the Altice Group (Numericable/Completel). He is a valedictorian of the Bar school of Metz, holds a postgraduate degree in European Law from the Institute of High European Studies of Strasbourg and a Public Law Master’s degree from the University of Strasbourg.
