Bird & Bird sponsors Health Service Journal's first UK-wide Top Innovators list

13 September 2013

Bird & Bird is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring HSJ's Top Innovators list.

The list will identify individuals who have found new ways to tackle challenges in healthcare, taking innovative approaches which make a tangible difference to patients, the professionals who help them and the organisations and systems which support them.

Details of the criteria and nominations process are available here.

The final list will be announced in November 2013 at a reception hosted at Bird & Bird's London office.

Alastair McLellan, editor of HSJ said: "In an era when organisations are being asked to deliver consistently excellent patient care on reduced resources, innovation has arguably never been more important to the success of the NHS. At HSJ we are dedicated to celebrating innovation. This list will recognise people from across the health service who are finding new ways of doing things for the ultimate benefit of us all."

Dominic Cook, head of Bird & Bird's healthcare group, commented: "Innovation has always been at the heart of better healthcare from the development of vaccinations through to keyhole surgery; and it will be essential if healthcare providers and their commercial partners are to meet the challenges of delivering smarter healthcare for the 21st century.

"As a firm, we have advised on many innovative ventures in life sciences and healthcare and observed how pivotal individuals can be to identifying opportunities to innovate and the real benefits that this can deliver. We are very pleased that we have been able to support HSJ's initiative which will recognise a wide range of such truly impressive individuals."
