Bird & Bird announces the appointments of Richard Eaton and Struan Penwarden as partners in its International Corporate Group.  Based in the London office, Richard and Struan will be joining from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where their respective practices focus on growth technology companies advising on all issues through their development, including venture capital funding rounds, public offerings and M&A.

Mark Pinder, Joint Head of the International Corporate Group, Bird & Bird London, said: ”The appointments of Richard and Struan strongly support the growth of our UK Venture Capital practice, led by partner Angus Miln.  Whether it’s in clean technology, telecommunications, or software, the firm’s longstanding reputation and in-depth knowledge of the technology sector, positions us exceptionally well to advise growing businesses – from early stage funding through to IPOs and beyond.  Richard and Struan’s expertise and international relationships in the venture capital community are a great compliment to our existing strengths and we look forward to welcoming them both to the team.”

Richard focuses on a wide range of  domestic and international corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions and securities law including public and private listings.  Struan’s practice is also focused on domestic and international corporate transactions, venture capital financings – both equity and debt, and public listings.  Both Richard and Struan share clients across a wide range of technology sectors, including clean technology, telecommunications, software, semiconductors and biotechnology.
