Bird & Bird scores top rankings in client satisfaction survey in the Netherlands

14 October 2013

Bird & Bird's Dutch practice has received top rankings from its clients in a recent client satisfaction survey. The survey conducted for Bird & Bird The Hague by independent research agency Nisus Consulting benchmarked the firm against other law firms in the market. The results showed Bird & Bird achieving consistently higher scores than the firm's major competitors.

The survey approached the top 100 clients of the Dutch office. The feedback was well above benchmark both in terms of volume and quality. Our clients provided feedback, comparing Bird & Bird with up to 3 competitor law firms. The results were also benchmarked against a market average of over 1000 European in-house counsels.

Among major differentiators were factors such as Bird & Bird's sector focus, with particular emphasis on telecommunications, media, life sciences, electronics and energy sectors. Another area of particular strength was the personal chemistry between Bird & Bird's lawyers and their clients, who also appreciated the firm's coordinated international approach.

One client commented that: "Working with Bird & Bird is an energiser. They demonstrate a pro-active attitude, thinking with you and delivering a 24/7 service on strategic level as well as their technical expertise. They also provide extra services such as training and seminars for us on relevant topics."

Another client said: "I work with other firms in other jurisdictions. Bird & Bird makes me feel like an important client who they always have time for."

This latest survey reflects the results of the Legal Week Client Satisfaction Research 2012, which placed Bird & Bird in the top three of leading international law firms.

Armand Killan and Pauline Kuipers, managing partners of Bird & Bird in The Hague said: "We are gratified to see that the quality of our work, professionalism, personal chemistry, market understanding and teamwork were areas that our clients gave us a particularly high score. These indicate that our strategy of deep industry knowledge, international reach and excellence in client service is making a difference to our clients' experience of working with Bird & Bird. We were also grateful to see that our fee structures are well in accordance with our clients' expectations.

There is always room for improvement and we continue to provide tools and training to our people resulting in an even more sophisticated planning and management in matters and in an improved pro-active communication".
