On Tuesday 25 June Bird & Bird will be hosting its third event this year as part of its ongoing partnership with the Design Museum. The event "The Value of Design" will explore the importance and value of design across its entire lifecycle.

Bird & Bird along with Interbrand, the Design Council and the Design Musuem will offer insights and opinions into each stage of design: concept, design, manufacturing, market, protection and enforcement. Within this, speakers will explore three major areas: Creative, Legal & Policy which will address a range of topics from design protection regimes and the importance of design to the UK economy to the everyday challenges of a designer.

Key note speakers will include Tony Ash, Managing Director – UK & Middle East, Vitra and Simon Terry, Innovation & Brand Director, Anglepoise® who will discuss what design means to their organisation and brand.

Allan Poulter, Partner, Bird & Bird said: "We are very excited to be hosting this event with the Design Musuem. The UK has a rich heritage of innovation and design and considering the real value of design is essential to organisations big and small as well as the huge impact it has on everyday life.

"There is a huge amount to be gained for business, from understanding the value of design, protecting it and treating it correctly. To get the true value, the whole design life cycle must be considered."

Deyan Sudjic, Director of the Design Museum adds ‘The Design Museum is delighted to host this event as it relates so closely to the museums vision, to inspire everyone to understand the value of design’

Speakers on the day will include Katharine Stephens, Partner, Bird & Bird; Andy Payne, Global Creative Director, Interbrand; Ailbhe McNabola, Associate Director of Policy & Research, the Design Council.
