Bird & Bird signs association agreement with firm in Tunisia

16 February 2012

We are delighted to announce that we have agreed an association with Tunisian law firm Dakhlaoui Avocats.

Tunisia presents a number of opportunities for infrastructure and further market developments within our core sectors, particularly energy, financial services, healthcare, IT and aviation. Our association with Dakhlaoui Avocats creates another link in this region which will enable us to assist existing and new clients with their various challenges in these developing industries.

The firm is led by partner Salah Dakhlaoui, a highly-rated corporate and commercial lawyer who worked for six years with international firm Gide Loyrette Nouel before setting up his own firm in Tunis in 2007. Salah and his team have substantial experience in financing transactions and have worked across a number of our core industries. Salah’s international background and his firm’s strong reputation in the local market make the firm an ideal partner for Bird & Bird in Tunisia.

Frederique Dupuis-Toubol, Bird & Bird’s Head of France comments: “We continue to strengthen our connections in the North and sub-Saharan Africa and Middle East region, which we established with our office in Abu Dhabi last year and developed with an association agreement in Morocco.  Tunisia and the wider region have interesting opportunities within several of our key sectors and we look forward to working closely with Salah and his team.”
