Bird & Bird and the restructuring of the Mandriva group

17 November 2010

The Bird & Bird Paris restructuring team has successfully accompanied the restructuring of Mandriva Group.

Mandriva is a company listed on the stock exchange and is the latest European publisher of software under Linux. Mandriva Group has several subsidiaries, three of which are implanted in France, and one in Brazil.

In this case, Bird & Bird used all appropriate pre-insolvency proceedings to deal with the group’s indebtedness and corporate restructuring.

The success of this operation permitted recapitalisation of the company by an investment fund held by the Bryan Garnier investment bank, and by a Russian investment fund.

  • Bird & Bird Paris (Bertrand Biette, partner, Laïd-Estelle Laurent and Mana Rassouli-Chemirani) advised Mandriva Group.

  • Felsberg e Associados in Brazil advised the company on the restructuring of its Brazilian subsidiary.

  • Bryan Garnier investment bank was advised by David Chijner of Friedfrank.

  • The Russian investment fund was advised by Stéphane Pétrossian of White & Case.
