Bird & Bird strengthens in Germany with double partner hire

International law firm Bird & Bird today announces the appointments of partners Dr. Wolfgang Hess and Sven-Erik Heun, who join the firm in Frankfurt from Lovells and Willkie Farr & Gallagher respectively.

Wolfgang Hess specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, general corporate and private equity work and advises clients in the TMT, Energy and Infrastructure sectors. Wolfgang also advises clients in the Cleantech and Renewables sector, and his experience will add to Bird & Bird’s already strong reputation in this area.

Wolfgang has 15 years’ experience in domestic and cross-border practice and, prior to Lovells, was a partner at Simmons & Simmons in Frankfurt.

Sven-Erik Heun focuses on telecommunications, the internet and e-commerce, as well as other regulated markets such as public utilities and services. He is acknowledged as a leading legal expert in telecommunications and has broad experience in telecommunications, e-commerce and internet law, on the regulatory side and also on the commercial and transactional sides. Sven-Erik also provides advice relating to public utility services (Energy, Cleantech and Renewables) and public administration, including public procurement and privatisation of public utilities and services.

Sven-Erik additionally focuses on compliance and data privacy. Prior to joining Willkie Farr & Gallagher as a founding partner in Frankfurt in 2000, he was a partner at Clifford Chance.
