Bird & Bird strengthens Commercial with the appointment of Richard Lucas

International law firm Bird & Bird announces the appointment of Richard Lucas as partner in the Commercial Group. Richard joins Bird & Bird’s London office from Berwin Leighton Paisner with over 19 years’ experience in project finance, specialising in the defence and transport sectors. In recent years, Richard had advised on a number of major transactions for BVT Surface Fleet, VT Group, Stagecoach Rail and the Go-Ahead Group.

Commenting on Richard’s appointment, David Kerr, Bird & Bird’s CEO, said: "We welcome Richard to the Commercial Department as his expertise in projects, particularly PFI and PPP, is beneficial to the Group and its clients.
