03 September 2008

Bird & Bird's International Automotive Industry Group will host its first industry seminar on Monday 15 September in Frankfurt, Germany. The seminar will address current legal and commercial developments in the automotive industry from a variety of legal perspectives.

The panel of expert speakers will examine recent developments from EU, national legislative and case law perspectives. The panel will also focus on practical topics from a commercial context, drawn from the day-to-day experience of Bird & Bird's partners - each of whom are deeply involved in the automotive industry.

The firm's Automotive Group provides a full range of contentious and non-contentious corporate, commercial, intellectual property and regulatory law services to investors, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and dealers. Bird & Bird's international team of lawyers are able to advise at all stages of the lifecycle of a motor vehicle – from initial design through to serial production, sale and distribution and, eventually, disposal. This includes advising on commercial contracts, logistics, enforcement and exploitation of intellectual property, EU & competition law and other regulatory and environmental matters (in particular sustainability), warranty issues, product liability and recall, financing and investment opportunities.

Bird & Bird is a full service international commercial law firm. The firm's automotive clients range from large multi-nationals to smaller domestic companies and include suppliers of production parts and investment goods, motor vehicle manufacturers, distributors, as well as logistics businesses and investors.
