On request of Santeon, an association of specialized breast cancer clinics in the Netherlands, the Dutch Authority of Consumers and Market ("ACM") has assessed the intended cooperation between its members.
Through the implementation of a proposed cooperation agreement, the specialized healthcare centres aim to achieve standardized, high-quality health care with uniform conditions for breast cancer treatment. Moreover, the cooperation agreement is aimed at strengthening the bargaining power of the health clinics in relation to health insurance companies. ACM 'cleared' the intended cooperation shortly after the health insurance sector confirmed ACM's conclusion that the clinics concerned do not compete.
