Bird & Bird and FAST IiS are delighted to invite you to 'Software as a Service - Establishing trust in Cloud Computing' to be held at Bird & Bird's offices in London on Tuesday 6 July 2010.
Consumers, start-ups and SMEs are increasingly achieving significant benefits from the adoption of Software as a Service (SaaS) and Cloud Computing. The current economic climate has provided the impetus for even large companies and public bodies to acknowledge that, despite the challenges, this is an evolution in IT that can no longer be ignored and based on the Conservative and Liberal Democrat manifestos', it would be sensible to assume that Cloud Computing will underpin the new Government ICT Strategy. However, there are a number of real barriers that still exist in the take-up of SaaS. The commercial case is compelling but how does a customer know it can trust SaaS suppliers? How do you quantify the risks involved in moving to cloud services?
This event will go beyond defining SaaS and Cloud Computing and address the real question of how you make these new opportunities work for your business. The event will be in two separate but overlapping parts - Cloud Computing in the Public Sector, and Cloud Computing in the Private Sector. We have brought together a range of experts from different fields to provide their insights into the key aspects of this topic and then engage in a discussion with our audience about the questions and issues arising in practice for both customers and suppliers. If you have any questions in advance that you would like to ensure are covered, please email them to IT10@twobirds.com.
The event will run from 16.00 through to 18.30 and will be followed by drinks and an opportunity to network.
