European Court of Human Rights looks into a national law banning religious symbols in commercial advertising

The European Court of Human Rights has recently decided that the passing of a national law to prohibit the use of religious symbols in advertising would not be compatible with the European Convention on Human Rights due to the prohibition not being necessary in a democracy. This was in response to a recent Lithuanian case where clothing company Sekmadienis ran an advertising campaign featuring figures that strongly resembled Jesus and Mary.
