Internships via University

Overview

We welcome university law students to undertake their internships with us.

Our internships provide an insight into life in a modern, forward-thinking law firm - the people, the environment and the different aspects of our practice. You will develop a better understanding of what it takes to make a career in law and the competencies it requires.

What we offer

A ‘buddy’ will be assigned to you and you will receive a structured induction programme, allowing you to integrate as easily and quickly as possible into the firm and to help you to get the most from us. You will become actively involved in your department(s), the work carried out there and of course the social events! You will assist the firm’s lawyers in their day to day assignments. The work is generally challenging and varied. For example, you will have the opportunity to draft legal documentation and memorandums as well as researching a wide variety of issues.

Dedicated to your development

We organise a variety of training sessions and legal seminars which you are welcome to attend throughout the internship. What we’re looking for Candidates should be studying Belgian law and have achieved excellent academic results in the previous years. Our interns should be sociable, articulate team players who are eager to learn and highly motivated. As our clients are both local and international businesses, a sufficient command of English, Dutch and/or French is required.

How to apply

The selection process

You can apply for an internship at any point throughout the year. In your application, tell us about your academic achievements to date, the period when you would like the internship to take place as well as which practice area(s) interests you most. Your application will be reviewed by one of the partners in your preferred area of work. If your application is successful you will be invited for a general interview aimed at getting to know you better and an understanding of your expectations of the intership. This is conducted by one of our partners with our HR manager. We will of course discuss your legal skills, but we are also interested in your personal interests and opinions.

Following this interview we will let you know what our decision is as soon as possible.
