Simon’s practice as a corporate lawyer focuses on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, with a particular emphasis on public equity markets in the UK. Simon has a particular expertise in public company takeovers, having been seconded to the UK’s Panel on Takeovers and Mergers in the mid-1990s.

As well as advising regularly on recommended takeovers, Simon advises a wide range of companies and investment banks on all manner of equity transactions, including IPOs and secondary issues on the UK’s main equity market and on AIM. Simon also advises private companies on equity investments and private M&A transactions.

Simon is recognised by the Chambers & Partners UK Guide to the Legal Profession (2005) as a leading lawyer in his field. “Nothing fazes Simon Allport, claimed clients. They perceive that “he ensures work is done to a high standard and costs are kept down”.
