Florian Schmidt-Bogatzky is a member of Bird & Bird's Intellectual Property and Competition Law Practice Group. His practice focuses on patent and utility model issues. Additionally, Florian advises clients on trademark and unfair competition law.

Florian graduated from the University of Goettingen and obtained an LL.M. (Patent and Intellectual Property Law) from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C. He is also admitted to the New York Bar. As a trainee in Hamburg, Florian focused on Intellectual Property matters and worked for an international law firm. Furthermore, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Intellectual Property in Tokyo.

Florian was admitted to the Düsseldorf Bar in April 2005 and has been working for Bird & Bird since then. He is fluent in German and English. Florian is a member of the German Intellectual Property and Copyright Association (GRUR), the German-American Lawyers' Association (DAJV), the German-Japanese Lawyers' Association (DJJV) and the American Bar Association (ABA).
