Colin is Joint Head of the Construction & Engineering Group. He joined Bird & Bird in 2008 on the firm's merger with Lane & Partners where he was a partner since 1993 and led the Engineering & Construction Department, which has been described as having “impressive” credentials in the 2008 edition of the Legal 500, one of the UK’s leading legal directories.
Colin specialises in contractual and commercial matters for the engineering, construction and energy sectors. He handles both dispute and transactional work. He has acted for a wide variety of high-profile UK and international clients in the energy, civil engineering, oil, construction and development fields. Colin has led a number of successful multi-million dollar international arbitration disputes and has also handled the negotiations and documentation for a wide variety of procurement projects both in the UK and overseas. The Legal 500 2007 describes him as having "excellent negotiations skills".
In recent years, his clients have included businesses engaged in the Cleantech and Renewables sector.
