Bruno is a Belgian IP litigation lawyer, practicing intellectual property law in Brussels since 1990. Bruno is a partner of the international law firm, Bird & Bird, where he heads the intellectual property department of the Brussels office. Bruno graduated from the Catholic University of Louvain in 1988, and holds a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the University of Georgia.
Bruno practices in Dutch, French and English. He has experience in all types of intellectual property litigation and acquired a specific and unique experience in Belgian cross-border patent litigation. Bruno regularly publishes about this subject in various intellectual property magazines.
Bruno focuses his practice on drafting and negotiation license agreements, conducting intellectual property due diligences, litigating patents and trade marks, and advising clients on cross-border litigation strategies in Belgium and Europe. Bruno also advises and assists European clients in patent disputes in the United States.
Bruno is a long standing member of the Benelux Chapter of the Licensing Executive Society (LES), where he has served as board member and president. He is a member of the Belgian AIPPI and of INTA, and arbitrator with the Belgian domain name dispute resolution center Cepani. Bruno is also head of the editorial board with the Belgian IP journal "Intellectuele Rechten / Droits Intellectuels" (IRDI).
