Dr Stefan Kettler, Maître en Droit, LL.M., is an associate in the Düsseldorf office of Bird & Bird LLP, which he joined in August 2008. He is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. His work is focused on international law, trade mark law and unfair competition.

Dr Kettler is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright Law (GRUR), the German-French Lawyers Association (DFJ), the Association for German and Russian Commercial Law (VDRW), and the International Association of Jurists Osnabrück (IJVO).

Dr Kettler started his legal education at the University of Bochum. He subsequently studied French and English law at the Universities of Orléans (F) and Northumbria at Newcastle (GB), where he acquired the degrees "Maîtrise en droit privé (mention droit des affaires)" and "LL.M. (English Law)".

Apart from his native language German Dr Kettler is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Russian. In July 2008, he was admitted by the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf as a legal interpreter and translator for the English and the French language.
