Bird & Bird's International Arbitration Group is an integrated multi-disciplinary team consisting of commercial lawyers, technical experts and experienced advocates and arbitrators located across offices throughout Europe and Asia.

As a global firm, we use our international capabilities and the flexibility of the arbitration process for the benefit of our clients’ substantive arguments and dispute resolution strategies.

We are recommended by clients and peers alike for our innovative approach, sophisticated commercial advice and the depth and breadth of our technical expertise in dealing with international commercial disputes referred to arbitration, especially in our chosen industry sectors and specialist practice areas including: aviation & aerospace, communications, financial services, electronics, energy & utilities, information technology, intellectual property, life sciences, media and sport.

We understand that experience and expertise is essential to fully take advantage of the benefits of arbitration. We have extensive experience representing clients in complex, high value ad hoc arbitrations as well as under the rules of the world's leading arbitral institutions (ICC, LCIA, AAA/ICDR, CIETAC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, WIPO, SCC) and under a variety of systems of law and a wide array of languages – including English, French, Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Swedish, Italian and German.

We are able to provide our clients with an in-depth understanding of the laws and procedures in jurisdictions local to the dispute, ensuring access to procedural and substantive legal advice as well as representation at all stages of the proceedings, whether before arbitral tribunals or domestic courts for the enforcement of arbitral awards or protective measures in support of arbitral proceedings.

Our arbitration practice is recommended, and many of our lawyers ranked as leading individuals in their specialist fields, in the leading legal directories including Legal 500 UK, Chambers & Partners UK, Chambers Europe, Chambers Asia, Chambers Global and Who’s Who Legal.
