Hilary Atherton is an associate in the London Intellectual Property Department. Hilary obtained a degree in Law from the University of Oxford in 2005 and joined Bird & Bird in 2008.
Hilary works on a wide range of intellectual property matters, with a particular emphasis on trade mark, passing off, copyright and design matters.
Hilary’s recent work has seen her acting on an ongoing Europe-wide IP enforcement programme combating look-alike consumer electronics products, involving working with UK and other EU Customs offices. She also recently acted for a designer of luxury goods in an action for design right infringement.
Her recent High Court litigation experience includes Daimler AG v Sany Group Co Ltd and easyGroup IP Licensing Limited v easyJet Airline Company Limited.
Hilary regularly contributes to a number of legal publications, including the Journal of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents (CIPA), the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (ITMA) Review and the World Intellectual Property Report.
