Bird & Bird has been named Global Firm of the Year in the Who's Who Legal Awards 2011 in four categories.
We have held the Global Firm for Life Sciences each of the seven years since the award's inception. It is the second consecutive win for Internet and e-Commerce, and the fifth consecutive win for Regulatory Communications. This year Bird & Bird has also won in the Patents category for the first time.
At an individual level the awards have recognised Of Counsel Colin Long who has been selected as the world's leading Regulatory Communications lawyer and Trevor Cook who has been named Global Patent Lawyer for the sixth consecutive year.
Who's Who Legal's research is based entirely on market feedback. The research process involves conversations with thousands of individuals internationally following initial recommendations from general counsel of international standing in the practice area in question or related fields.
Ultimately, one individual and one firm, which by general agreement are considered to be the foremost experts in their field, are awarded in each of the 31 practice areas.
